While COVID-19 hospitalizations and mortality have declined the public health impact remains significant. COVID-19 is like many viruses, and implementing efforts to manage this illness also supports control of other similarly contagious illnesses in confinement facilities. CDMCF is designed specifically to assist confinement facilities to detect and mitigate COVID-19. This workshop provides a “how to” guide for confinement facilities on the types of projects envisioned for support through the CDMCF, and how state correctional facilities, local jails, juvenile facilities, lockups and other confinement facilities can find out if funding is still available in their jurisdictions. It will also provide guidance on the types of projects that CDMCF will fund, and how to secure these dollars. Along with funding, CDMCF offers an important Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Component with subject matter experts in jail and prison operation and medical care. This assistance is available to facilities and systems whether they receive direct funding or not. Learning Objectives: • Understand what the COVID-19 Detection and Mitigation in Confinement Facilities program is and what it can do for you. • Learn what type of TTA might be available to your system or facility for COVID-19/ infectious disease prevention and control. • Get a feel for the wide range of projects that have been funded in other jurisdictions. • Hear directly from other state and local jurisdictions with examples of how they
