B-2J State Drug Treatment Program (SDTP) ( Y CE, CE, CME, CERP) Track: Medical Room 204-C The State Drug Treatment Program (SDTP) is a treatment program provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for offenders who have been convicted of drug-related offenses and who have been assessed as needing high intensity substance abuse treatment. The program offers a step-down approach to manage criminal behavior and addiction. Under SDTP, the offenders will complete 24 months inside a correctional facility where they will complete a Therapeutic Community/Level 1, a minimum of two months in a community-based Therapeutic Community (inpatient treatment) and a minimum of six months in outpatient substance abuse treatment. SDTP offers offenders numerous opportunities to build life and recovery-based skills in a variety of environments. Learning Objectives: • Individuals will understand the institutional and community levels of SDTP.

• Individuals will understand how SDTP supports recovery along a continuum. • Individuals will understand how SDTP can decrease recidivism. Moderator: Chris A.
