These individuals are the most important asset for all our agencies, yet we often struggle to take care of them and are unable to recruit new individuals into our profession. This presentation will focus on the impact and influence that leaders can have within an organization’s recruitment and retention. Providing clear direction about the mission and vision of the agency and visible modeling of the leaders assist in building a healthy agency culture. We will also remind people of their “why” — the reasons they entered this profession — and how it can help improve the culture within the agency. Learning Objectives: • Participants will be able to identify ways to help employees feel valued within an organization and remind them why they joined this profession. • Participants will understand the importance of understanding the mission and vision of an organization. • Participants will have the resources and knowledge to improve their impact and influence within an organization. Powell , Retired IIR, Albany, Georgia, Tallahassee, Florida B-2G The Basics of a Correctional 340B Program (CE, CME) Track: Medical Room 203-B The 340B Drug Discount Program is a federal government program created in 1992 that requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to eligible healthcare organizations (covered entities) at significantly reduced prices. The 340B program is administered and overseen by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Correctional settings are becoming 340B participants with success. However, to satisfy program requirements for 340B participation, a covered entity must maintain auditable records documenting compliance with 340B Program requirements. This presentation will provide awareness of 340B processes to recognize compliance gaps while also focusing on new opportunities within the program for a successful 340B program in a correctional setting.
