PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Miller is an Assistant Deputy Commissioner with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, where she oversees Treatment & Care services for Secure Facilities. She has more than 20 years of experience in both adult corrections and juvenile justice, serving in the roles of Correctional Officer, Probation & Parole Officer, Probation & Parole Supervisor, Regional Manager, Assistant Director of Programs, Program Coordinator, Operations Director, Regional Director, and Deputy Assistant Secretary. Throughout her career, she has provided oversight for statewide community-based programming, non-secure placement, probation and parole services, juvenile detention centers, and long-term secure placement facilities. Ms. Miller is actively involved in several national professional organizations. Within the American Correctional Association (ACA), she serves as a member of the Delegate Assembly, Vice Chair of the Juvenile Detention Committee, and member of both the Restorative Justice Committee and Women Working in Corrections Committee. She also serves on the Positive Youth Outcomes, Behavioral Health, and Data & Research Committees for the Council of Juvenile Justice Administrators (CJJA). Ms. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University. In addition, she is a Master Trainer for the Structured Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth (SAVRY). Throughout her career, Ms. Miller has remained highly engaged in ACA Accreditation efforts across all areas of juvenile justice, including probation, secure facilities, and administrative services. Her professional memberships include the American Probation & Parole Association (APPA), American Correctional Association (ACA), Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC), and Southern Criminal Justice Association (SCJA).
