PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Tim Fitzpatrick began his career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer at the Ferguson Unit in December 2005. He promoted through all uniformed security ranks including Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Major. He was an Assistant Warden at two facilities and received his first assignment as Senior Warden in 2020 at the Jim Rudd Unit. He also served the agency in the capacity of Senior Warden at the Wallace Pack Unit. In November 2021, he was selected as the Director of Classification and Records. In May 2026, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Division Director for the Classification and Inmate Transportation Division. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University. He has served as President of the Board of Directors for the Texas Public Employees Association (TPEA) and on the Board of Directors for the Texas Corrections Association (TCA). His career with the agency spans over 20 years, serving at nine (9) different prisons in five of our geographical regions in TDCJ. He was honored for his service by receiving the Governor’s Criminal Justice – Administrator of the Year Award and has been appointed by The State of Texas to serve as the State Administrator for the Interstate Agreement on Detainers.
