PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Bobby Lumpkin is a 35-year veteran of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice who began his career in 1990 as a correctional officer. Throughout his tenure, he has held various positions within the agency, giving him a wide variety of knowledge and experience. This diverse background prepared him for his current role as the agency’s Executive Director, where he oversees the operations of one of the largest adult criminal justice systems in the country. Mr. Lumpkin has served as President of the National Correctional Industries Association and Texas Corrections Association. Currently, he serves on the American Correctional Association Board of Governors for Corrections and previously served as a Commissioner on the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections. He is also a member of the American Probation and Parole Association and the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents. Mr. Lumpkin received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University.
