Dr. Sabrina T. Shannon is a Correctional Teacher with the Tennessee Department of Correction and an Adjunct Professor at Southwest Tennessee Community College. She has devoted her career to advancing education, rehabilitation, and leadership within correctional settings, working with both incarcerated juveniles and adult offenders. Dr. Shannon holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She is also a graduate of the Tennessee Correctional Leadership Academy. Since joining the Tennessee Department of Correction in 2018, she has helped expand educational opportunities, promote workforce readiness, and support successful reentry outcomes for justice-involved individuals. As an American Correctional Association Certified Auditor, Dr. Shannon is committed to accreditation, accountability, and continuous improvement across correctional institutions. Her professional experience spans correctional education, leadership development, program administration, and offender rehabilitation, providing a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the corrections profession. Dr. Shannon believes education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives, strengthening institutions, and enhancing public safety. She is committed to supporting correctional professionals and advancing innovative, evidence-based practices that improve outcomes for incarcerated individuals, staff, and communities.
