PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Christopher Klein is a corrections and public safety executive with nearly 30 years of experience in correctional administration, operations, accreditation, and homeland security. He began his career with the Delaware Department of Correction in 1997, rising through the ranks to serve as Chief of Prisons, where he led efforts to achieve national accreditation through the American Correctional Association. He later served in leadership roles with the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security before being appointed Superintendent of the Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities in 2021. In this role, he oversees two detention facilities, pretrial services, house arrest, and other community supervision programs. Klein holds a Bachelor of Science from Wilmington University and is a Certified Corrections Executive and ACA Certified Auditor. He is an active leader in the profession and currently serves as President of the Maryland Correctional Administrators Association.
