PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Clayton Weiss is the Health Services Director for the Florida Department of Corrections and has been in this role since June 2023. As the Health Services Director, Clayton is responsible for the oversight of comprehensive medical, mental health, dental, and pharmaceutical services for over 90,000 inmates and a $750 Million annual budget. Clayton is also a proud member of the American Correctional Association and the Coalition of Correctional Health Authorities (CCHA). He currently serves as Chair of the CCHA Artificial Intelligence Work Group. Prior to serving as the Health Services Director, Clayton worked in a variety of roles with the Florida Department of Health, both at the state and local levels. His last position with the Florida Department of Health was as the Chief of the Bureau of Epidemiology, where he oversaw the Immunization Program, Surveillance, Infectious Disease Investigations, and the Refugee Health Program. Prior roles with the Florida Department of Health included the HIV Patient Care Program Manager and Ryan White Part B Project Director, and the Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Unit Manager. Clayton has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University and a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of South Florida.
