Kevin L. Runyon, BS, RN, serves as the Medical Operations Director for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. He brings 27 years of correctional and public health experience dedicated to improving care for incarcerated populations and strengthening clinical operations across Ohio’s correctional system. In addition to his extensive healthcare career, Kevin proudly retired from the United States Army following honorable service that included deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. His military background further shaped his leadership style, commitment to service, and expertise in delivering care under complex and high‑pressure conditions. Kevin is an active member of both the ACA Health Care Committee and serves as the Vice Chair of the Correctional Nurses Committee, where he contributes to national standards and professional practice development. He has also presented numerous times at ACA conferences, sharing insights on correctional healthcare operations, clinical practice, and system improvement. As a delegate, Kevin’s goal is to ensure the delivery of timely, evidence‑based, and realistic guidance and training for staff. His focus is on supporting practical, attainable solutions that elevate both staff competency and patient outcomes while advancing the broader field of correctional healthcare
