PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Ron Edwards is a nationally recognized corrections executive with more than 35 years of experience in correctional operations, leadership, accreditation, professional standards, and organizational management. Mr. Edwards began his career as a Correction Officer and rose through the ranks to become the Director of one of the largest county correctional systems in the United States. He also served as a Deputy Commissioner with the New York City Department of Correction, overseeing complex correctional operations, security management, staff development, compliance, and executive leadership functions. A retired law enforcement professional, Mr. Edwards currently serves in executive leadership and consulting roles involving correctional assessments, operational audits, accountability systems, policy development, and organizational reform initiatives. He is also a professor of Criminal Justice at the university level, teaching and mentoring future criminal justice professionals and correctional leaders. Mr. Edwards is an active auditor for the American Correctional Association and has conducted inspections and assessments of correctional facilities throughout the United States. He also serves as an instructor in correctional leadership and jail management. He believes the future of corrections depends upon professional leadership, accountability, training, staff wellness, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and integrity within our institutions.
