PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Christy Doyle is the Senior Director of the Office of Children, Young Adults, and Families with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. She brings three decades of experience in behavioral health leadership, including trauma-informed care, mental health and criminal justice partnerships as well as delivering quality care to youth and families across Georgia. Dr. Doyle has served the State of Georgia since 1998 in a variety of capacities, including Director of Behavioral Health for the Department of Juvenile Justice and Senior Researcher at the Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University. She has led foundation and federally grant-funded projects to support the development and implementation of trauma-informed and trauma-specific care in secure facilities. In addition, she spent many years developing policy and procedure to guide behavioral health service delivery in secure facilities and to support successful youth return to their communities. She also serves on the board of the Georgia School of Addiction Studies and has served on the boards of Mental Health America of Georgia and of Cherokee County Family Connections. In addition to her work with child-serving agencies, Dr. Doyle and her husband are foster and adoptive parents, fostering teen-aged boys for many years. They have two adopted sons (biological brothers), the oldest of whom is a Certified Peer Specialist. She served as the Regional Vice President for the Adoptive and Foster Parent Association of Georgia and was instrumental in the development and passage of the Foster Parent Bill of Rights.
