PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Ruby has over 38 years of experience in various positions to include Correctional Officer, Probation Officer, Substance Use Counselor II, Qualified Mental Health Specialist (for adolescents and youth), Child Protective Service Investigator and Program Director for Management and Training Corporation (MTC) at the Estelle Unit Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility (SAFPF). Mrs. Davis was promoted to Manager I – Substance Use Programs for the Rehabilitation Programs Division in November 2021, then promoted to Manager IV – Deputy Director of Program Coordination & Development in February 2022, where she remained until her recent selection as Deputy Division Director. Ruby holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University, a Master of Science in Juvenile Justice and a Master of Art in Counseling from Prairie View A&M. She is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Mrs. Ruby Davis was promoted on August 15, 2024, to Deputy Division Director of Rehabilitation Programs. She transferred to Deputy Division Director of Chaplaincy and Volunteer Services Division in November 2024. Ruby’s vast experience, education and knowledge will benefit her greatly as she assumes this leadership position within CVSD.
