PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Since 1987 Anne Walker has been President & CEO of the Alston Wilkes Society, a South Carolina statewide agency working with justice involved adults and youth, as well as veterans. She previously worked for the Society from 1972 to 1979. From 1979 to 1981 Anne was self-employed in the speaking/training field and then worked in higher education from 1981 to 1987. She received a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Lander University and a Master’s degree in education from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the South Carolina Correctional Association, a past President of the South Carolina Probation and Parole Association and a past President of the Board of Directors of the International Community Justice Association. She is also a member of the Association for Women Executives in Corrections. Anne is a past elected member of the Board of Governors of ACA, representing Community Corrections, and a past elected member of the Delegate Assembly. She has served as chair of ACA’s Congress of Corrections Program Committee, chair of the Credentials Committee, Professional Affiliates Committee and the Community Residential Committee. She is a past Chair & current Vice Chair of the Awards Committee, a past Chair of the Community Corrections Committee and Vice-Chair of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee. Anne is a 2006 recipient of ACA’s E.R. Cass Correctional Achievement Award. “I appreciate the honor of being nominated as a candidate for Treasurer of the ACA. If elected, I will do my best to appropriately represent all members of the Association.”
