PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Anthony O. Vann brings more than 17 years of executive correctional leadership experience, including service as Chief Financial Officer and currently Chief Deputy Secretary of Administration for the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, where he oversees a $2.4 billion budget. In 2022, he was appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to the Governor’s Task Force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice (TREC). As ACA Treasurer, Dr. Vann has worked closely with ACA’s first Chief Financial Officer to strengthen accounting practices, reduce costs, and support the Association’s long-term financial stability and growth. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Business Administration, a Doctor of Philosophy degree, executive leadership certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion certification from Cornell University. He is also a certified John Maxwell Coach and Mentor. Dr. Vann has served as Vice President of Programs for the National Correctional Industries Association, President of the North Carolina Correctional Association, and has received numerous honors, including the 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service. “It would be my esteemed honor to continue to serve you as the next Treasurer for ACA.”
