Educational Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, the participants will be able to: • Demonstrate competence in the limitations of correctional medicine concerning specific aspects of patient care. • Determine those inmates/detainees who have a constitutional right to health care and at what level care must be provided. • Choose between differing approaches to medical, mental health and substance abuse problems suffered by inmates. Psychologists ( Y CE) The American Correctional Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The American Correctional Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Psychologists should

This activity has been approved for 10.5 Y CE psychology hours (Maximum attendance 7 sessions). Psychologists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A $30 additional Y CE fee is required to participate in this program.

Make sure the session you are attending is approved for your discipline. Some sessions may not be approved for credit to your specific discipline.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT • Establish coordination and cooperation between security and treatment personnel.
