This presentation will describe how Centurion of Florida has created a one-of-a-kind statewide wound care program to provide streamlined specialized wound care services and products to the Florida Department of Corrections. This presentation will describe how the program works, our innovative techniques, exemplary practices to enhance continuous quality improvement and show actual real patient outcomes from the program. The presentation also gives educational points to provide quality, safe and effective treatment while having excellent outcomes.

Learning Objectives: • Our statewide wound care service is used to streamline advanced wound care orders, products and direction to provide better patient outcomes to our healthcare providers. • Understanding wound healing and significant deviations such as infection in the correctional setting that impede wound care outcomes for patients. This objective will be covered to describe our program processes to educate and assist providers. • The importance of appropriate wound assessment and proper dressing selection. We will highlight the importance of these topics and explain the direct relationship of how this will affect the patient’s outcome of the wound care provided.
