Continuing Education Programs for Physicians/Mid-Level Providers (CME)

Target Population: Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

Who qualifies? Medical doctors and other health care practitioners such as nurse practitioners, mid-level providers, etc.

Educational Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, the participants will be able to: • Demonstrate competence in the limitations of correctional medicine concerning specific aspects of patient care. • Choose between differing approaches to medical, mental health and substance use problems suffered by people in custody. • Establish coordination and cooperation between security and treatment personnel. • Apply community standards of care within the constraints and considerations of correctional settings. Physicians/Mid-Level Providers (CME) The American Correctional Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Physicians can earn up to 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (Maximum attendance 12 sessions). Each physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent in the educational activity.

A $99 additional CME fee is required to participate in this program.

Make sure the session you are attending is approved for your discipline. Some sessions may not be approved for credit to your specific discipline.
