It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the American Correctional

Association (ACA) 156th Congress of Correction.

Since its inception in 1870, the American Correctional Association has

worked to shape the future of corrections through creating national and international standards to promote quality of life, human dignity, and the safety of correctional facilities. This conference brings together thousands of correctional professionals for workshops, training, and networking opportunities with the common goal of improving the justice system. People can feel and be safe in their communities because of individuals like you who dedicate their careers to protecting their communities, upholding our criminal justice system, and providing opportunities for all those who interact with our criminal justice system. The work you do each day helps us reach a place where all Pennsylvanians, regardless of their past, can invest the time and work necessary to chart their own course for the future, and find the opportunity to succeed. As Governor, and on behalf of all Pennsylvanians, I am delighted to welcome all those gathered for the ACA 156th Congress of Correction. Please accept my best wishes for a memorable event, and continued success and safety in your work.
