Room 316 Primary Community of Focus: Ohio Department of Youth Services, Communications Division Overview: While reflecting on the recent history of the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS), turning negative circumstances into success stories over the last two and half years, we want to engage participants on their journeys of positive outcomes within the juvenile justice system. All jurisdictions and states are different. As DYS reflects and provides examples of

successful communications outcomes, we want participants to recognize how they have achieved a public relations win. Lastly, we want to examine how to continue to deliver on those accomplishments time and time again and simultaneously learn about possible uplifting ideas through engagement and participation with one another. Learning Objectives: • Understanding more communications strategies. • Learning about and broadening awareness of media relations approaches. • Gathered more communications ideas to shape agency success within public relations and to enhance internal communications.
