With an increasingly competitive job market, political pressures and tight budgets, filling security vacancies has become a greater challenge in recent years. With these hurdles in mind, Florida has honed our hiring process to close the gap between application and start date from averaging six weeks or more pre-pandemic. Now applicants can start as quickly as one week from the day they applied. Motivation: Recognizing Opportunities, Managing Attitudes, Time Management and Avoiding Complacency in Correctional Leadership Room W232 B/C Overview: This presentation focuses on the principles of leadership and the concept that correctional officials in leadership roles must be chief motivators. Topics covered include opportunities to motivate others, improving satisfaction in the workplace, the importance of attitude and avoiding complacency. The key is to recognize opportunities and capitalize on them, inspiring others to reach their full potential and operate with an attitude of perpetual optimism. Concepts of integrity, character, teamwork, servant leadership and selfless service are also discussed.
