From the Field: Operationalizing Medication Assisted Treatment in Corrections and the Community [CERP] Room 205C Primary Area of Focus: Healthcare & Wellness Primary Community of Focus: Adult Corrections This session will provide the participants with an overview of the need for medication assisted treatment for substance use disorders in correctional settings, discuss implementing medication assisted treatment programs in correctional facilities and share strategies to maintain medication assisted treatment in the community for those in reentry to prevent overdoses. This session will offer tips from professionals in the field that have implemented medication assisted treatment programs in jails and reentry programs to continue treatment in the community and include tips on overdose prevention. Following a presentation by the moderator there will be a discussion with the other two panelists on successes and challenges with implementing medication assisted treatment programs and reentry planning considerations for those that are receiving medication assisted treatment.
