CORRECTIONAL FACILITY/INSTITUTIONAL TOURS

Downtown Detention Center (DDC) and Behavioral Care Center (BCC) Davidson County Sheriff’s Office The maximum-security DDC is the first stop for every arrestee in Nashville, has a capacity of 762 inmates, and opened in May 2020. The 60-bed BCC is a state-licensed treatment facility focusing on decriminalization of mental illness. Every resident is provided resources for continuum of care. Each tour will include both the Downtown Detention Center and the Behavioral Care Center. Each tour is approximately 2 hours.

Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center (DJRC) has a total capacity of 817 inmates and is a time building institution housing minimum, medium, close, maximum and death row custody female inmates. DJRC is the diagnostic facility for the female population. DJRC also has a transitional center which includes a work release component.
