The DC DOC operates two secure facilities, several halfway houses, and a post-release resource building; formerly known as the READY Center. The READY Center works with returning citizens by providing them access to food, clothing, shelter, workforce training, social services and mental health supports. The DC DOC uses a continuum of care model which involves an integrated system of care that guides and tracks justice-involved individuals over time through comprehensive
