oxygen supply into your system. When a person stops breathing, the Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHi), gets high potentially causing strokes, heart attacks and other systemic collapse due to lack of oxygen. Improving airway through myofunctional therapy, Oral appliances, epigenetics and pneumopedic engineering will relieve those with OSA from the lifetime use of the C-PAP machine. Myofunctional therapy and breathing wellness will be beneficial in corrections, it does not require surgery or medication. Learning Objectives: • How Myofunctional and Breathing wellness will improve OSA treatment for the inmate population without surgery or medication.
• Benefits of the Continuous Positive Air Pressure (C-PAP) machine, the only equipment that save lives for people suffering from obstructive sleep apnea which are available to the inmate population. • Increase awareness among healthcare providers in prevention of obstructive sleep apnea.
