On behalf of our American Correctional Association leadership, host committee and staff, I am pleased to welcome you to ACA’s Winter Conference in sunny Orlando, Florida. Although Orlando is world-renowned for its vacation spots, corrections professionals who come to this conference will spend some important time learning new skills, exchanging the latest ideas and deepening friendship and fellowship with other professionals from across the country and across the globe. I know this Conference features a wonderful variety of ways for our attendees to enhance their professional lives and be in fellowship with other corrections professionals. Please don’t miss our fantastic General Session and our other special events featuring speakers who will arm you with crucial information you will need to meet your challenges in the year ahead. In addition, we’ve lined up a splendid array of workshops on subjects which will give you important new knowledge.

Once again, I urge you to carve out a few hours to explore our exhibit hall filled with the best vendors in the country who will introduce you to the latest in technology and essential services in the world of corrections. Those hours will give you access to all the tools you’ll need to have the best year ever. In addition, one of the absolutely crucial elements of ACA’s Winter Conference is an exclusive opportunity for you to earn certifications and continuing education units. This is specialized knowledge you cannot get anywhere else and will arm you with the tools you need to be a leader in your field. It is absolutely true: attending an ACA conference jumpstarts your professional career like nothing else. Finally, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the women and men who spent their time and lent us their talents to put on this extraordinary event. Putting on an event of this size takes a lot of work from a lot of dedicated professionals.
