and suicidal threats, presents a continued challenge for correctional institutions. This training workshop provides an overview of current data on prison SDV and information on classifying offenders with Persistent Self-Injury Risk (PSIR) . The workshop will include case examples of SDV in prison from a perspective of a functional model. Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will be able to identify key conceptual differences within the classification of self-directed violence. 2. Participants will be able to accurately explain DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for Suicidal Behavior Disorder and Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Disorder. 3.Participants will be able to list representative statistical demographics of multiple SDV event types. 4.Participants will be able to communicate

corrections-specific SDV scenarios and case examples from a functional perspective.
