Central Florida Reception Center The Main Unit provides the general reception process for the inmate population where all of the administrative, medical, mental health issues are handled pertaining to each inmate. Each Inmate received into CFRC is classified by their length of sentence, degree of crime and type of crime. The East Unit houses the Short Sentence Correctional Institution (SSCI) program where over 160 inmates who are on their first prison commitment and serving less than one year receive programs and classes separate from other general population inmates. These efforts are to facilitate a reduction in recidivism by providing the inmates with resources and training to foster healthy and sustainable personal improvement.

State Probation & Parole Office — Field Office Operations This visit involves participants touring the Orlando East Field Probation and Parole Office which is a full-service office. Presentations would be given to participants of FDC’s current offender GPS supervision system, offender-based incentive programs and a demonstration of the MILO firearm simulator.

Kissimmee CRC Kissimmee Community Release Center is for state prison offenders sentenced up to 12 months. The inmates housed at Kissimmee CRC are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn
