C-2G Risk — Need — Responsivity (RNR): A New Focus on Improving Outcomes for Behavioral Health Treatment (CE, Y CE) Grand Ballroom 13 Track: Treatment Application of the Risk-Need-Responsivity framework (RNR) has been shown to be effective in reducing recidivism rates in a variety of criminogenic populations. Utilization of RNR, including those receiving mental health services represents effective correctional practice, allows for a wide variety of therapeutic interventions and can enhance overall client outcomes 1. Participants will be able to summarize the Risk-Need-Responsivity Framework and apply it to their daily practice. 2. Participants will be able to identify responsivity factors and tailor interventions to individuals with a history of criminal behaviors. 3.Participants will be able to explain how RNR principles are implemented within the Michigan Department of Corrections and how treatment organizations may use the RNR framework to impact recidivism outcomes.
