C-1J Targeted Interventions Gaining Enhanced Reentry (TIGER): Gender Responsivity and Other Revisions Grand Ballroom 9/10 Track: Jails The Department of Louisiana Public Safety and Corrections was awarded the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) — Maximizing State Reforms grant from the Department of Justice in 2014 to create and implement an automated risk, need and responsivity tool to inform structured decision making and identify criminogenic needs for all criminal justice stake holders. Since 2020, the Department partnered with Louisiana State University Social Research and Evaluation Center to refine the existing Risk-Needs-Responsivity assessment. This two-year collaboration between Louisiana State University and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections has successfully reconfigured the TIGER Needs Assessment based upon the entire LA DPS&C population and refined the TIGER Institutional Risk algorithm to be gender responsive.
