C-1H Development and Operation of a Dental Laboratory in a Correctional Facility and the Future of 3D Dentures (CE, CERP) Grand Ballroom 14 Track: Medical The workshop will describe the development and operation of a large scale dental laboratory in a correctional facility. This will include a discussion on the selection and training of offenders accepted into the program, security considerations, quality control, business considerations, and how this program can prepare offenders for a career after release. Presenters will also describe the pros and cons of 3D dentures compared to conventional dentures. Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will be able to summarize the operation of an enterprise dental laboratory in a correctional facility. 2. Participants will be able to identify de challenges of an enterprise operation in a correctional facility. 3.Participants will be able to explain the pros and cons of conventional dentures and 3D dentures.
