In this session, participants will be instructed on the 5 th Edition Expected Practices related to restrictive housing with emphasis on the new expected practices. Participants will be shown what Ohio has done to create alternatives to restrictive housing. This session will further explain how to abide by the new expected practices along

C-3E Correctional Behavioral Health Certification Program: Giving You the Skills for Success (CE) Room 127A Track: Treatment This session will explore the 3 rd Edition of ACA’s Correctional Behavioral Health Certification and Training (CBHC) program for correctional officers (adult and juvenile justice), allied health professionals and community corrections professionals (probation and parole). This certification ensures a candidate’s knowledge of national standards and guidelines, legal and ethical principles and relevant security regulations. The CBHC program validates the role of correctional professionals associated with the provision of behavioral health services for mentally ill inmates or offenders in correctional settings. The presentation will cover management and interventions for individuals with borderline and anti-social personality disorders. Learning Objectives: • Identify the mental health needs of offenders. • Signify the crucial role of mental health staff and effective approaches to treatment. • Understand the fundamental aspects of mental illness and correctional health services.
