A-1A It is Time to Think Differently — A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Suicides at The Texas Department of Criminal Justice Room 125B Track: Prisons After experiencing an increase in suicides, executive leadership convened a team from a variety of disciplines to look at the issue of suicide at the agency, identify gaps in our response and formulate solutions. Approaching the issue from a multi-disciplinary perspective has removed silos between internal partners, provided new insight on the problem and allowed for creative solutions. Sharing the role of suicide prevention has also increased support to correctional facilities so that they are no longer alone in their fight to reduce suicides. We will review where we began, discuss lessons learned and highlight
