The program creates or updates an individualized Reentry Accountability Plan that identifies appropriate health management, educational, life skills training, industry-based certifications and program elective(s) courses based on each individual reentry participant’s criminogenic risk and needs. Louisiana identifies risk and
need using the TIGER Risk/Needs assessment tool, educational assessments and input from the offender. The program works with community organizations who provide in-reach to connect participants with needed resources post-release. Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will learn about the importance of assessing risk and needs in the creation of an individualized case plan and how this influences individual placement into course(s) to benefit their return to society. 2.Participants will learn about Louisiana’s partnership with the Social Security Administration, State Office of Medicaid, Office of Motor Vehicles and Department of Health to obtain identification and Medicaid cards for participants in Regional Reentry. 3.Participants will obtain knowledge on how Louisiana provides adult education and career and technical education to participants in a local jail Regional Reentry Program.
