began the process to become a licensed outpatient treatment provider in each Level 4 and 5 facility across Delaware working with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Agency (SAMHSA) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). This session will provide an overview of our process prior to submission and efforts to prepare for full approval of licensure. A-1F The Do’s and Don’ts of an Effective Wellness Program in Corrections (CE-RN, Y CE, CME) Room 256 Track: Multi-Disciplinary Service Team Correctional leaders understand the vital importance of ensuring a sustainable workforce to safeguard public safety. Psychological research clearly supports wellness programs as an effective tool for a sustainable workforce, providing an opportunity to improve recruitment and retention of critical staff positions. The American Correctional Association and Bureau of Justice Assistance have teamed up to identify baseline programs being offered and the increasing availability of staff wellness resources throughout corrections. This workshop will present innovative initiatives in prisons and jails which are increasing the effectiveness of wellness programs for their staff and how to improve staff well-being in times of a catastrophic circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Don’t miss out on learning how correctional associations, external government agencies and universities can assist corrections to improve staff wellness and a sustainable staff workforce.
