A-1A Building Multi-Disciplinary Teams in Prisons: A Minnesota Department of Corrections Pilot Room 239 Track: Prisons This workshop focuses on a 2022 pilot that built Person-Centered Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) at Minnesota Department of Corrections (MN DOC) prisons. In 2020, MN DOC began planning for implementation of a person-centered approach to incarceration and supervision. Exploration planning and recommendations were made to leadership in the fall of 2021 which included implementation for a pilot at intake facilities, concentrating on engaging intakes and co-creating person-centered case plans to assist in program planning while incarcerated. This workshop will cover the background on bringing a person-centered approach to MN DOC, the initial recommendations for implementation, a review of an early 2021 pilot of new assessments to assist in needs/responsivity-based case planning, a review of engagement of stakeholders and the Person-Centered Approach pilot to test capacity, efficiency and effectiveness of MDTs in prisons. Needs, challenges, data, results and next steps will be shared with participants. The pilot has given MN DOC an opportunity to break down silos that can often occur in prisons between professionals, from security to therapists, health services
