The presentation will share about the role of volunteers in Singapore’s correctional landscape, SPS’ efforts in engaging and equipping its volunteers, as well as the Throughcare Volunteer Framework, under which volunteers continue to provide sustained pro-social support to ex-offenders. The presentation will also cover the Yellow Ribbon Project, a national movement in Singapore that was started in 2004, and is dedicated to supporting offenders, ex-offenders and their families.

Learning Objectives: 1.Understand why community partnerships are an effective pillar in the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. 2.Learn how Singapore Prison Service engages and partners the community. 3.Appreciate the Yellow Ribbon Project, a national movement that continues to generate strong community support every year.
