This workshop highlights the work of correctional agencies that have implemented behavioral intervention policy and training practices and will share their strategies for preparing staff. This will include how to implement training after making a policy change, getting buy-in from the leadership and the union and creating a training team. Learning Objectives: 1.To identify the agency’s training priorities and establish a training plan and team that develop the training material and relay information as needed. 2.To identify what resources will be needed to support the implementation of the training plan (e.g., CIT Trained staff, Body Worn Camera equipment/training for staff, Automation of the BI/UOF Packet, Investigations Training, etc.). 3.To research information relative to your agency, as to provide site-specific data re: the offender population (mental health, recovery services data), as well as labor relations/investigations information that can be used to support scenarios/videos.
