Following the community standard as well as

best correctional practices, the Department has initiated a stepwise process utilizing the recommendation from the contracted health care provider and a security review process. The session will discuss the recommendation, security review and preparation process including informational sessions for the residents and training for the staff. Given the complexities of the process, the Department will share the lessons learned as well as the imperatives of successful transitions. Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will have historical context and will know how to develop a policy that supports thoughtful and successful transfers. 2.Participants will be able to identify and assess potential transfers and to have successful strategies for the preparation of transfer for the resident and staff. 3.Have goals to perform a successful security review.
