C-1I COVID-19 Era Corrections: Responding Effectively to a Changed Environment Room 204 Track: Staff Training COVID-19 has changed the world and it has dramatically changed corrections. This workshop will explore three areas of COVID-19 related correctional practice. The statistics on how COVID-19 has impacted corrections will be briefly stated. The effect of COVID-19-related changes on correctional staff and inmates will be presented. How are staff coping with the challenges presented by COVID-19? How are inmates handling the restrictions imposed by new but necessary procedures? The workshop will explore best practice responses to the COVID-19 correctional environment. How can we best preserve the physical and emotional security and stability of all involved — staff and inmates? These challenges are only magnified when presenting in the correctional setting.
