Now, more than a year into the pandemic, research is beginning to reveal the emotional toll on individuals’ mental health — from children to the elderly. One of the hardest hit groups are those working in health care. Reports of nurse and physician suicides shine a spotlight on the fear, devastation and social isolation experienced by so many. This presentation will highlight recent studies regarding the impact on mental health, the increase in suicide and mental suffering, and propose strategies to increase awareness and provide support for our health care partners and front-line workers.
