B-2E Conducting the Psychological Autopsy in Correctional Settings ( Ψ CE) Room 207A Track: Mental Health Participants will be provided with an overview of the origin, purpose and methodology of the psychological autopsy. The practical applications of the psychological autopsy in correctional settings will be discussed within the context of risk management and suicide prevention. Participants will address issues within legal,

ethical and policy areas. Learning Objectives:

• Participants will be able to explain the historical origins, purpose and methodology of the psychological autopsy. • Participants will be able to utilize

the psychological autopsy as a risk management tool in suicide prevention.

• Participants will be able to identify the legal, ethical and policy dilemmas that are involved in conducting psychological autopsies.

ACA recommends attendees wear masks covering your nose and mouth while inside buildings.
