A-1B Correctional Behavioral Health Certification Program: Giving You the Skills for Success (CE-RN, CE, CERP) Track: Treatment This session will explore the 3 rd Edition of ACA’s Correctional Behavioral Health Certification and Training (CBHC) program for correctional officers (adult and juvenile justice), allied health professionals and community corrections professionals (probation and parole). This certification ensures a candidate’s knowledge of national standards and guidelines, legal and ethical principles and relevant security regulations. The CBHC program validates the role of correctional professionals associated with the provision of behavioral health services for mentally ill inmates or offenders in correctional settings. The presentation will cover management and interventions for individuals with borderline and anti-social personality disorders. Learning Objectives: • Participants will be able to identify the mental health needs of offenders. • Participants will be able to signify the crucial role of mental health staff and effective approaches to treatment. • Participants will learn the fundamental aspects of mental illness and correctional health services. A-1A Monoclonal Antibodies: An Important Opportunity for Improving Correctional Health Outcomes (CE-RN, CERP, CME) Track: Physicians/Midlevel The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the world far more than we have imagined. Correctional institutions across the USA are at the center of the COVID-19 pandemic. Housing offenders in congregate settings, correctional institutions play an important role in containing the COVID-19 pandemic. With the health of our correctional populations as priority, expanding the use of authorized treatments should be explored. This presentation will navigate through the background of monoclonal antibodies (mAb) and their role in public and correctional health in order to help curb the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning Objectives: • Participants will be able to identify the key components of monoclonal antibodies. • Participants will be able to implement the use of mAb in the field. • Participants will be able to identify the future use of mAb and further adjustments necessary for COVID-19 variants.
