Verbal De-Escalation professional development training for Correctional Officers, Support Staff and Security Personnel. The goal of this training is to equip Correctional Officers/Staff with additional approaches for defusing escalated situations that may occur in correctional facilities, jails or detention centers. The objective of this presentation is to conduct an interactive, in-person training for Correctional Officers/staff to explore nine (9) de-escalation techniques; demonstrate how one may use these techniques to be more effective when addressing inmates, other staff members and the public with difficult behaviors. E-2A Expanding Investigations with COPLINK Room 207A Track: Security With more than one billion searchable law enforcement documents contained in COPLINK, investigators/officers will have the most updated intelligence on persons, locations, vehicles, and incidents reported by law enforcement. These documents include actual summaries from law enforcement narratives that describe the interaction between an offender and law enforcement. There are many ways that this can benefit corrections investigations. Learning Objectives: • Find out who has access and control of a vehicle that is visiting your correctional facility. • Review how an inmate previously interacted with law enforcement through actual police narratives. • Learn how to target addresses with a nexus to an escapee and known associates.
