D-2J Results from a Staff Wellness Environmental Scan: Putting Corrections Professionals FIRST (CE-RN, CERP, CE, CME) Room 207B Track: Treatment Frontline correctional staff are the most important resource necessary for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both inmates and fellow staff. These individuals are the first responders within a correctional facility. Resources should be made available to staff so that correctional staff wellness is a priority. This presentation will provide data and insight from the staff wellness scan conducted in 2020 by the American Correctional Association and the Bureau of Justice Assistance. It will also explore current aspects of staff wellness programs, stress management techniques and several wellness perspectives in the work environment.

Learning Objectives: • Participants will be able to explain results from the 2020 Staff Wellness Scan. • Participants will be able to describe staff wellness programs that are currently being utilized throughout the United States. • Participants will be able to identify emerging sources of staff wellness information that can be used to implement or enhance staff wellness programs.
