Our systems must now shape itself to have the community participate in the process of helping a person get well by reimagining community engagement through jail and community. Community Engagement touches health care, children of the incarcerated, operation and security, reentry, public health, leadership and facility design. This workshop will highlight the areas of community engagement and its importance. Learning Objectives: • Build trusting and accountable relationships with corrections leadership and community leadership. • Develop shared vision for community change.

The great majority of human advancement happens in times of strife and struggle. 2020 was no exception. After a global pandemic forced us to conduct our business differently, we took the opportunity to address deficiencies in our training models of the past and envision new training methodologies for the future. This session will discuss immediate adjustments that had to be made due to restricted travel and social distancing and explore new technology and lessons learned as we reimagined correctional training in a post-COVID world.
