This session will include an interactive conversation about developmental recovery, habilitation vs. rehabilitation and innovative strategies for helping offenders achieve and sustain recovery as well as, opportunities/challenges that corrections and treatment professionals experience when collaborating to offer treatment and behavioral health programming. Learning Objectives: • Participants will be able to define and explain habilitation vs. rehabilitation, and what each means for individuals with SUD or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. • Participants will be able to identify examples of clinical issues experienced by

offenders that are addressed by substance use disorder treatment and behavioral health programs. • Participants will be able to explain how a trauma-informed approach to treatment can address arrested development in offenders.
