than older adults. The complexity of adolescent opioid use disorder has resulted in a much slower expansion of medication-assisted therapy (MAT) in adolescent and emerging adult populations. In our workshop, we will explore the importance of early intervention with youth. We will detail the process used by the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice to differentiate experimental users from users who need MAT level intervention. We will discuss how medical, behavioral health and transition staff work together in our induction, treatment and release process. Finally, we will cover the harm reduction efforts we take medically to ensure minimal-continued harm occurs from the opioid use. Objectives: Participants will be able to improve screening and the MAT selection process for adolescents and emerging adults; understand how to implement a flexible treatment model within a juvenile correctional environment; and identify health-risk factors inherent in opioid use that require additional monitoring and treatment. Moderator: Michelle Staples-Horne, M.D., M.S., MPH, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Decatur, Georgia Speakers: Christopher Moon, M.D., CCHP, Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, Richmond, Virginia; Mark Murphy, M.S., LPA, CSOTP, CCE-Juv, Health Services Director, Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, Richmond, Virginia D-1D Conquering Illicit Drug Activity! How to Prevent Death and Destruction Caused by Narcotic Activity in our Prisons (CE/CME) Room 210 Dangerous drug trends such as Synthetic Cannabinoids (K-2 Spice) and fentanyl are infiltrating our prisons and are harming our staff and killing inmates across the country. The Massachusetts DOC has created the Illicit Drug Activity Task Force to address illicit drug activity within the DOC facilities. The purpose

of the task force is to gather intelligence, disrupt distribution and remove illicit drugs. In addition, the task force would work with outside law enforcement agencies to prosecute cases on both the state and federal levels. This workshop will detail how you can develop your own illicit drug activity task force within an adult correctional setting and how to combat introduction of narcotics and illicit substances. Objectives: Participants will be able to conduct a needs assessment for your agency; develop and implement a drug task force with a low cost to the agency; and create partnerships with outside law enforcement agencies. Moderator: Christopher Fallon, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, Massachusetts Department of Correction, Milford, Massachusetts Speakers: Patrick DePalo, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Field Services, Massachusetts Department of Correction, Milford, Massachusetts; Paul Henderson, Deputy Commissioner of Field Services, Massachusetts Department of Correction, Milford, Massachusetts; Charlie Primack, Director of Special Operations, Massachusetts Department of Correction, Milford, Massachusetts Room 203 The ACA Data Repository Center’s (DRC) mission is to provide quality information and analysis through data warehousing, intelligence and consultation in an effort to improve correctional systems decision making and operational efficiencies. Data-informed decision making requires accurate data sets from comparable populations or environments to track national or local correctional metrics and trends. This session will highlight the DRC, identified metrics, pilot results, lessons learned and next steps. D-1E Data Repository Center: Evaluating Trends in Correctional Data
